A pre-release version of Meedio Essentials was recently reviewed by the popular website HTPCNews.com, where lead reviewer Brad Gilomen gave the product a rating of 9/10 and news editor Alan Cooke states, "as of right now I will give it an 8 out of 10 I hope to come back and revise this conclusion in a short while to a 9.5 out of 10".

Besides the ability to have plugins in Meedio, the user can create and download themes of their liking. This has to be one of the most unique and easy to do things that I have seen in any front end thus far. At the current moment there are 4 or 5 that you can download and use from Meedio's website. These can actually be downloaded and implemented from inside the Meedio Gui which makes it extra easy for even the novice user to change out the look of their Meedio.

At the core of Meedio is a very competent very configurable front-end which is only part of what makes Meedio great. To justify the cost of 60 dollars (40 dollars if you are a myhtpc forum member before Tuesday the 27th) you really have to take a look at the unlimited expandability Meedio will offer. At the time of release there are already 21 plug-ins that you will be able to use. The value of Meedio will only continue to grow as more plug-ins and extra features are released. Meedio listens to their community and are always there to respond.

This application has one of the best foundations I have ever had the privilege to work with in terms of a front end. I can tell already from the few plugins that are setup for download as of this review, that this is a very expandable application that will, without a doubt, have the largest user base of any front end on the market for HTPC users. The ease of use, reliability, stability, and customizations of this application are just so "out there" that you'll just have to give it a try and see why we are so excited.
